Specialities
At Neuroshift Psychological Services, we adopt a comprehensive and compassionate approach to treating trauma and PTSD. Our therapy methodologies are trauma-informed and evidence-based and tailored to meet the unique needs of each client, acknowledging the multicultural backgrounds and individual experiences that shape their journey. Treatment often begins with building a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. We utilize a variety of proven techniques, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which helps with thoughts and behaviours related to trauma. Additionally, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is employed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. Our therapists are also trained in mindfulness and somatic therapies, which help clients connect their minds and bodies, facilitating overall healing. Understanding that trauma and PTSD are deeply personal, our approach is client-centered and collaborative, empowering individuals to reclaim control over their lives. Our goal is to support clients in processing traumatic experiences without re-traumatization, ultimately fostering resilience and growth.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) can be a powerful tool for healing from trauma and distressing memories, but it can also feel daunting to confront the pain associated with past experiences. Whether you're dealing with unresolved trauma, anxiety, or other emotional struggles, the process of reprocessing painful memories can stir up strong emotions, leaving you feeling uncertain or vulnerable.
When you seek EMDR therapy, you’re hoping to move past the weight of these memories and find relief from the emotional burden they carry. You want to experience peace, release, and a sense of freedom from the patterns that continue to affect your life.
In our work together, we’ll use EMDR to target and reprocess the memories and emotions that are holding you back. Through a combination of bilateral stimulation and therapeutic techniques, we’ll work together to transform these distressing memories into neutral ones. My trauma-informed, client-centered approach ensures that we move at a pace that feels right for you, always ensuring safety and comfort. With EMDR, we can work together to release the emotional charge of painful memories, helping you heal, regain control, and move forward with confidence and clarity.
Addiction can feel like an unbreakable chain, keeping you stuck in a cycle of cravings, guilt, and hopelessness. Whether it's substance use, behavioral patterns, or a combination of both, the grip of addiction can affect your relationships, career, and overall sense of self-worth. You might feel overwhelmed by the constant battle between wanting to change and being pulled back into old habits.
When you seek counselling for addiction, you’re hoping to regain control of your life, break free from the patterns that hold you back, and find healthier, more fulfilling ways to cope. You’re looking for relief, a sense of freedom, and a path to rebuild trust with yourself and others.
In our work together, we’ll address the root causes of addiction with empathy and a comprehensive approach. Using a blend of cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), trauma resolution techniques, and evidence-based strategies, we’ll work together to create a plan for healing. With a focus on building sustainable coping mechanisms and addressing underlying emotional struggles, my trauma-informed, client-centered approach ensures that we take the necessary steps at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we’ll navigate the path to recovery and empower you to create a life free from the hold of addiction.
